The UYM Apprenticeship is designed to enable young adults with a heart to follow Christ and make an eternal difference in the next generation while growing personally, professionally, and spiritually and having fun on the job! It equips apprentices for a lifestyle of ministry; to live missionally in their chosen vocation. This program develops young adult leaders to effectively work with urban youth, families, schools, and communities. Essentially, “Developing Spiritual Leaders Among Urban Youth.”
Training, activities, and hands-on experiences are designed to focus on three major areas for each apprentice:
⇒ Grow PERSONALLY
Become a biblically based leader who is intentional to live with integrity, humility, and self-awareness.
⇒ Grow PROFESSIONALLY
Become an effective and impactful leader equipped with ministry philosophies, tools, and strategies to live out your call.

Become an impassioned and disciplined servant leader, anchored in your relationship with Jesus Christ, which is the foundation for personal and professional growth.

What are the benefits of participating in the Apprenticeship Program?
The apprenticeship gives young adults relevant experience in a field that interests them and will help focus their goals to make an informed decision about pursuing ministry as a vocation. Skills learned in this program are highly transferable to many youth-focused career paths to include social work, education, counseling, and ministry. Participants will get to know themselves better through tools and inventories and be an integral part of a community of apprentices. Participants will have multiple methods of support and investment in their personal, professional, and spiritual growth while obtaining real-life experience and learning in a teachable environment. Ultimately, this is an opportunity to grow personally and make an impact in the lives of others in real time.
