photo-lea2I’m currently a junior at North High School in Denver, and I’m on the right path with Jesus. But it wasn’t always that way. For a lot of years I made some really bad decisions. I drank, did drugs, and was involved in some other things I shouldn’t have been because I was spending time with all the wrong people.

A few years ago I was introduced to a different way of life by my mentor CoCo. In that moment I found a support system. She taught me that God could change my life, and He did.

I’ll never forget the moment when I was at a UYM event with Coco and they shared the Gospel and asked if any of us would like to Receive Christ as their Lord and Savior. I raised my hand. We said the sinner’s prayer together, and every day since then Coco has walked along side of me and helped me grow in my Faith. I’m a human, so I still make mistakes. But at the same time, I’m truly thankful Coco is by my side. I’m constantly learning more about Jesus, building up my faith, and seeing what I’m capable of becoming in Christ.

I’m very grateful to Coco for sharing the Gospel with me and disciplining me. She has truly helped me find my identity in Christ, she’s helped me to be less shy and to feel confident in myself and my faith.
